WHITE-WHISKERED PUFFBIRD – (Species Account Weblog #110)

The White-whiskered Puffbird inhabits humid evergreen forests and shady forest edges from southeastern Mexico to Ecuador. Not like most different species of puffbird, the White-whiskered reveals noticeable variations in plumage between the sexes with males displaying robust rufous tones to the face and chest. In Costa Rica we noticed 2 White-whiskered Puffbird whereas within the Punta Leona space.
