The Pale-billed Woodpecker is without doubt one of the largest and most spectacular woodpeckers in Central America. Present in lowland forests from northern Mexico south to western Panama, this species is pretty frequent all through most of its vary, however shouldn’t be current in closely deforested areas, and will now be extirpated from the northwestern restrict of its reported distribution in Sonora, Mexico.
