Whereas Tolkien’s brilliance as a world-builder and storyteller is
well-established, fewer persons are conscious of simply how distinctive (and
obsessive) his artistic course of was, or that he was a gifted visible
artist. That’s altering due to an unprecedented exhibition of
Tolkien’s private objects, manuscripts and artworks, Tolkien:
Maker of Center-Earth, presently on show on the Morgan
Library in Manhattan.

Holly Ordway, creator of the upcoming research Tolkien’s Trendy
Sources, be a part of me to debate the exhibition, which sheds gentle
