The Collared Aracari ranges from central Veracruz, Mexico south by northern Venezuela and western Ecuador. It’s a medium-sized frugivore, present in a wide range of wooded habitats together with moist lowland major forest, second development, forest patches, and plantations of espresso, cacao and fruits, usually under 1000 meters. Collared Aracaris typically journey in teams of three – 10 people within the subcanopy and cover. When flying between fruiting timber or calling they’re simply detected, however they are often missed when quietly feeding or on the nest. (from Birds of the World)
