In 2003, Disney launched a six minute animated quick referred to as Destino, ultimately delivering clocertain to a mission that started 57 years earlier. The story of Destino goes manner again to 1946 when two very different cultural icons, Walt Disney and Salvador Dalí, decided to work together on a automobiletoon. The movie was storyboarded by Dalí and John Hench (a Disney studio artist) over the course of eight months. However then, slightly abruptly, the mission acquired tabled when The Walt Disney Company bumped into financial problems.
Now quick forward 53 years, to 1999. Whereas working on Fantasia 2000, Walt Disney’s nephew rediscovered the mission and 17 seconds of original animation. Utilizing this clip and the original storyboards, 25 animators introduced the movie to completion and premiered it at The New York Movie Festival in 2003. Destino would obtain an Oscar nomination for the Greatest Animated Quick Movie, amongst other accolades from critics.
The clip runs 6+ minutes and features music written by Mexican trackauthor Armando Dominguez and pershaped by Dora Luz. In our archive, we even have another version that features a soundmonitor by Pink Floyd.
