When Digable Planets launched “Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)” in 1993, the music blew up in recognition and the group was hailed as a kind of new, various hip-hop.
A 12 months later, Digable Planets launched their second and ultimate album, referred to as Blowout Comb, and World Cafe correspondent John Morrison says it went in a very new course.
“I do not know if Blowout Comb is deliberately pushing again in opposition to that, however it positively has a rougher form of edge to it,” he says.
On this installment of The Tradition Nook, Morrison talks about Digable Planets’ Blowout Comb because the album turns 30 years previous.
