The Inexperienced Kingfisher is a small kingfisher with disproportionately lengthy invoice. Darkish shiny inexperienced above with white throat, collar, and spots on wings. Tail typically held cocked up. White outer tail feathers noticed with inexperienced conspicuous in flight. Male has rufous breast; feminine breast white with noticed inexperienced double-collar. In Costa Rica we noticed two Inexperienced Kingfishers on the Chilamate Rainforest Eco Retreat close to Sarapiquí.
