“Do You Notice??”
The Flaming Lips fashioned in Oklahoma Metropolis in 1983. During the last 4 a long time, they’ve put out 16 albums. In 1999, they put out their album The Smooth Bulletin, and that introduced them a brand new stage of success. After which, in 2002, they adopted it up with Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, which was their largest album to this point. Pitchfork named it one of many prime 5 albums of the 12 months, Stereogum referred to as it the most effective albums of the last decade, and so they received a Grammy. And the largest tune from the album was “Do You Notice??” So, for this episode, I talked to Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd about how that tune was first imagined. You’ll hear the very first demo Wayne recorded for the tune, and the demo he and Steven put collectively later, on their option to making the ultimate model with producer Dave Fridmann.
