Colin Steton’s “Hollowing,” from his newest album The find it irresistible took to depart you, is one in all our contenders for the 12 months’s greatest songs.

Our newest replace to NPR Music’s operating record of the 12 months’s greatest songs features a slice of pop perfection from Oso Oso, and a complete bunch of sonic ear sweet that unfolds within the instrumental work of saxophonist Colin Stetson, composer Christopher Rountree, cellist and sound collagist Lia Kohl and extra, together with the music of Philip Glass carried out by mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo.

NPR Music’s Tom Huizenga joins host Robin Hilton as they share the songs they cannot cease taking part in this week.
